MISSION CITY SELECT SOCCER
THE COMPETITIVE STANDARD
Mission City Runners is the Select soccer program of Mission City Youth Soccer Organization, serving both boys and girls within a unified competitive system. Players are selected through evaluation and placed into structured teams that compete in league play, tournaments, and high-performance training environments designed to move players from development into structured competition, college opportunity, and the semi-professional pathway.
What Select Soccer Is and How It Works
WHAT SELECT MEANS
Select soccer is the competitive level of youth soccer in which players are evaluated and placed into teams based on their ability, development, and commitment. Unlike recreational play, the Select environment requires consistent training, structured team placement, league competition, tournament play, and accountability within a long-term development system.
Evaluation
Players are identified through open tryouts, academy sessions, and continuous observation. Placement decisions are made according to current level of ability, developmental potential, and the environment that will best advance the player.
Team Placement
Players are placed on teams where they can develop, contribute, be challenged, make friends, and continue to grow. Movement within the system remains fluid so that advancement is based on performance and readiness.
Training
Teams train multiple times per week and compete in leagues and tournaments throughout the year. The program uses a structured curriculum that develops technical execution, tactical understanding, physical readiness, and mental discipline.
Performance
Teams compete in league matches and tournaments throughout the year, applying training in real game environments while developing decision-making, composure, and competitive consistency.
